Here the sounds and silence of nature accompany an ideal holiday of relaxation.
Birdsong, the wind rustling amongst the leaves, the local church bell ringing out, the barking of a dog in the distance are the background melodies of a magical atmosphere.
A view of the countryside and hills full of history as far as the eye can see. A photo of this won’t just make your friends envious, but will also remain a part of you. Henry James when visiting Umbria once wrote: “I have spent a week here and at the end of my visit had enough of th painter Il Perugino, but not enough of this landscape”
Relaxing isn’t just about lying in the sun beside our swimming pool, but also about regaining fitness and vitality through all kinds of physical exercise.
Going for Walks: There are easy and difficult routes, depending on your taste, which start from the gates of Torriola. The entire area around Todi is dotted with walks that are marked and mapped and called: I CIRCUITI DEL PAESAGGIO – CIRCUITS OF THE LANDSCAPE.
There are 6 of these walks which cover routes of various types (country lanes, historical trails, town roads) leading you through or past old towns and particularly prized buildings, working farms, wineries and oil mills and which encapsulate the beauty of these places and the local countryside
Bike trips: hiring of bikes ( also electric) by special agreement, also with guide, to be booked.
There are a series of itineraries available with different levels of difficulty which allow bike lovers to comb Umbrian from one side to the other.
The nearest route to Torriola is the one that unfolds around Lake Corbara, leading from Todi to Orvieto, with unforgettable views.
Horse-riding: there are two stables which offer lessons and rides for all levels in some really fascinating areas.
While children and beginners are enjoying themselves inside the stables, the more expert rider can venture out along the banks of the River Tiber and the Arnata stream, at one with nature.
Going canyoning can be an unforgettable experience. Accompanied by expert guides, travelling down the river at the bottom of a canyon, walking, swimming, descending a waterfall.
And for those a little bit more “reckless”, there is rafting in an enchanting landscape along the River Corno in Valnerina.
In July it’s also possible to go hot-air ballooning when one of the most important international hot-air balloon competitions takes place.
But even if you just want to travel around by car or by train, Torriola is in the ideal location for you to reach the most beautiful tourist attractions in Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio with ease.
